Weather disruption to network services
While the weather has improved allowing some Cook Strait ferry sailings to resume, we are expecting continued delays on inter-island freight over the next few days.
As you would imagine there is now pressure on ferry operators with days of backlog bookings to manage. While the ferries are beginning to sail again, they have not yet returned to regular schedules.
This is causing some temporary uncertainty for us as to when specific units will be on the water. At this stage we expect to see disruption to ferry crossings for up to the next 48 hours, which may push some delayed inter-island deliveries out to as late as Tuesday morning.
This disruption will also have a flow-on impact, to some extent, across our wider network nationally.
The circumstances are out of our control but do get in touch by email through to customer.support@halls.co.nz or contact your Hall’s Account Manager if you have any urgent concerns and we will try to get the answers that you need.
As our planning and dispatch teams get clarity on specific deliveries, they will be touch directly with updates for any customers affected - thanks for your patience.
