Our Covid-19 measures

An update for customers from Hall’s Managing Director, Michele Kernahan

I wanted to provide a quick update and hopefully reassurance for you on our approach given the confirmation that further Covid cases have been identified in the community in New Zealand. 

We are not waiting until the midday move into Alert Level 3 in Auckland and have put a number of measures into place across the country.  

  • Effective immediately all Hall’s and Icepak sites are closed to all but essential visitors across the country.

  • Cash sales are being ceased on a permanent basis

  • Our drivers have continued hand washing and good hygiene practices but will also have masks available for use if needed on pick-up and delivery

  • We are also observing social distancing in all our work places effective this morning which may mean some minor delays in processing documentation or loading in or out at our stores. We would ask for your patience.

Any in-person meetings are being moved to video or telephone conference or social distancing observed where that’s not possible and vulnerable and other team members who can work remotely across the country will do so.

Auckland is initially in Alert Level 3 for just three days – depending on what happens over the next week or more we may need to make some network adjustments with increased demand by some of our customers and reduced demand from others.  We would update any customers individually where this occurs.
