Update on weather disruption

Weather conditions across the country have eased but road closures mean we are still expecting delays of up to 48 hours for some freight to and from the lower North Island.

State Highway closures from Taihape to Tūrangi and to Rangipo have delayed our Wellington Express service with one truck stranded on the border of the Tongariro National Park.

Some freight did get through late yesterday using detour routes and our teams will update customers directly as we can. In the meantime, please plan for service delays over the next day or two.

Inter-island update

Cook Strait ferries are operating but they are still running several hours behind. Generally, our South Island teams have caught up with any backlog from two days of bad weather and services in all other parts of the country are getting back on track.
