Roadworks south of Kaikōura
Important roadworks to make the State Highway south of Kaikōura safer for all New Zealand motorists means our drivers may be stuck roadside there on occasion, over the next 10 weeks.
This is likely to impact some of our deliveries. We will do all we can to avoid or work around the issues but some disruption is probably unavoidable, particularly deliveries into Marlborough.
The State Highway will be closed a total of 9 hours over the hours from 7am to 7pm.
Why is this happening?
Work to install permanent rockfall protection will be underway south of Kaikōura with night closures starting from Sunday 16 August. The work will affect traffic flow five nights each week on Thursdays to Sunday.
During daytime traffic will be restricted as well to one lane, with a stop/go traffic management.
We’ll let you know
Our teams will be in touch where any of your deliveries are going to be directly affected but conditions and closure impact may differ on each day. As the work continues there may be some relief from the closures – we will keep you updated.
With thanks,
Hall’s Operations Team
