ROAD CLOSURE SH2 WAIROA

This morning, we were informed that Wairoa was being evacuated due to the river being too high.

Our Gisborne unit was stopped just south of Wairoa. As at 9:08am, NZ Transport Waka Kotahi, reported that SH2 was closed between Mitchell Road and Kiwi Valley Road due to flooding and slips. There was no detour available at the time of reporting and we are waiting on further advice.

We are not able to access Gisborne today. Our operations team have been in direct contact with affected customers.
