Network delays due to weather

Road closures and weather disruption north and south are having an impact on our services and will mean delays in some freight pick-up and delivery today and potentially through to Friday.

Otago is one of the areas affected - this image from the Leith Saddle traffic camera shows Hall’s trucks among others waiting for the road to reopen.

Snow has closed the Desert Road in the Central North Island and the available detours mean increased travel time.

In the South Island there’s heavy snow fall and road closures on highways into Otago and central Otago.

Inter-island freight

With all Cook Strait ferry sailings cancelled today and most of tomorrow there are significant delays on inter-island freight.  The first sailings are not scheduled from Wellington or Picton until around early afternoon tomorrow and that will only be if conditions ease.
