Service Update | Severe Weather Update

We are closely monitoring the severe weather that is impacting many parts of New Zealand over the next 24–48 hours. . MetService has issued multiple Red and Orange Weather Warnings.

These conditions may affect road access, travel times and overall safety across parts of the North Island and upper South Island. The safety of our people and the integrity of your product remain our highest priorities.

Service Impacts

Some routes may be delayed or temporarily inaccessible due to flooding, slips and road closures.

Services may be affected in the following areas:

Northland, Coromandel Peninsula, Bay of Plenty, Rotorua, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Auckland, Waikato, Tasman, Nelson, Buller, Grey Districts, Canterbury, and Westland.

We are monitoring conditions in real time and will adjust operations as needed to keep our teams safe.

Weather Overview (MetService)

Red Heavy Rain Warnings

  • Northland, Coromandel Peninsula, Bay of Plenty (including Rotorua), and northern Gisborne
    These regions may experience significant flooding, slips, dangerous river conditions, and road closures.

Orange Heavy Rain Warnings

  • Auckland, Great Barrier Island, Gisborne (south of Tolaga Bay), Hawke’s Bay, and parts of Tasman
    These areas may see rapidly rising rivers, surface flooding, and travel disruptions.

Heavy Rain Watches and Strong Wind Watches are also in place for surrounding regions.
