FATAL CRASH - TUAMARINA

A fatal accident happened near the Tuamarina area this morning, involving two logging trucks.

Resulting road closures are expected to be in place for up to 12 hours, so will affect some of our linehaul units traveling to Picton and out of Picton.

We have been advised by Bluebridge that some of our units have been moved to the 7:15pm sailing due to the road closure on SH1 Tuamarina. Unfortunately, this time change means that our drivers would exceed their maximum allowable driving hours, so our units have been booked on the 2am sailing.

Around 6pm last night, SH1 Tuamarina was reported as being closed again and reported as being reopened at 7:10pm. Bluebridge requested that we provide a list of units to prioritise for the 2am (Friday) sailing, which our team has done. Impacted customers have been contacted by our teams, who are working hard to manage the evolving situation.
