SOUTH ISLAND ROADING – SH1 Night Closures

Our South Island team would like to extend a sincere thank you to our customers for your patience and support last week as we worked through a series of unexpected roading events across the region. This was the most disruptive period we have seen in a very long time, and your understanding during this period was appreciated.

We have now been advised that State Highway 1 between Waipara and Kaikōura will be closed overnight from Sunday 2 November to Thursday 6 November, reopening on the morning of Friday 7 November. These closures will be in effect from 8 pm to 5 am each night.

Detour routes are available during this time, and our Operations team has been informed to ensure we continue to meet our scheduled commitments, despite the increased travel distances for our Teams.
