FERRY CANCELLATIONS NOTIFICATIONS RECEIVED FROM BLUEBRIDGE (MONDAY 2 OCTOBER AT 2:02PM)
“Unfortunately, there’s more weather on the way for Cook Strait from late tonight (Monday 2nd Oct) and throughout tomorrow (Tuesday 3rd Oct), with swells forecast to exceed limits at stages.
The following sailings are cancelled or will operate as freight only if indicated. “
Tuesday 3 October
Wellington to Picton
2:00 am – Freight only, subject to conditions. Vessel will attempt to get away early.
8:15 am - Cancelled
1:30 pm - Cancelled
Picton to Wellington
2:30 am – Freight only, subject to conditions. Vessel will attempt to get away early.
7:45 am - Cancelled
2:00 pm - Cancelled
“Conditions should have eased by tomorrow evening (Tuesday 3rd Oct) and the plan is to resume sailing from Picton at 7:15 pm and Wellington at 8:30 pm. We will continue to monitor and review tomorrow.”
Please note that this will impact our freight network, with delays expected of at least 24hrs. This includes freight already in our network and interisland freight to be collected.
Note: there will still be a backlog of freight once the ferry schedule resumes, so expect network delays.

The swell in Cook Strait subsided and the ships departed as scheduled, at 7:15pm from Picton and 8:30pm from Wellington, last night.
