BLUEBRIDGE FERRY CANCELLATIONS - 30 JUL
Update Tuesday 30 July (1:10pm)
Further to our network update posted yesterday, we have received further notification from Bluebridge as follows:
“The forecast wind is anticipated to exceed operating limits in Picton this evening and overnight and we have been advised by the Harbourmaster that the port is likely to be closed during this time, which would mean we’d be unable to berth. Swells in Cook Strait are also forecast to increase throughout today and into tomorrow. “
As a result, we have cancelled the following sailings:
Tuesday 30 July
Wellington to Picton 8:30 pm
Wednesday 31 July
Wellington to Picton 2:00 am
Picton to Wellington 2:30 am and 7:45 am
“At this stage, our plan is for the Connemara to resume service at 8:15 am tomorrow morning (Wednesday) and Strait Feronia at 1:30 pm tomorrow afternoon. However, this will be subject to conditions on Cook Strait and in the ports.“
These cancellations will further impact our network. Affected customers can expect to hear from our operations team.

Further to our network update posted yesterday, we have received further notification from Bluebridge as follows:
“The latest forecasts show a slightly worse deterioration in the conditions than earlier forecasts.
At this point Connemara is due to resume sailing tomorrow morning, subject to conditions.
Feronia will not resume sailing until 1:30pm on Thursday 1 August, due to conditions and to provide adequate time to complete extended layover repairs. “
The following is the sailing schedule Wednesday and Thursday, subject to current forecasts. Further disruptions are possible if conditions are worse than forecast.

Further to our network update posted yesterday, we have received further notification from Bluebridge earlier today as follows:
“Both of our vessels are sailing today. Feronia is on time departing Wellington at 1:30pm. Connemara is delayed due to yesterday’s weather & is currently loading the 8:15am in Wellington to depart shortly.
We are aware of the SH1 Closure South of Blenheim and we are hopeful that this will not affect units arriving for our delayed 2:00pm sailing today, but we will continue to monitor.”
