HALL'S FIRST ECANTER HITS THE ROAD
On 25th July, the Christchurch City Council hosted an event at the Christchurch Art Gallery to launch their ‘Battery Electric Truck Projects’, namely:
Civil Construction and Maintenance Services Project
Shopping District Battery Electric Truck Delivery Services Project
A total of nine battery electric trucks were involved, including our very own first FUSO eCanter. Hall’s Group, along with the other eight companies, have signed on to help the council achieve its goal of halving greenhouse gas emissions for the district by 2030.
The event included a presentation by Christchurch City Council Resource Efficiency Manager (Kevin Crutchley), the General Manager of Fuso, a representative from EECA (Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority) and Christchurch Mayor, Lianne Dalziel. This was followed by morning tea, then a walk-around the nine trucks to check the different applications and features. Members of the media were also in attendance.
Representing Hall’s Group was our team from the Christchurch office (pictured below, from left to right): Amos Simonetta (Transport Manager), Svend Fieldes (Account Manager), Jessie Sime (Operations Manager) and Hayden Reed (SI Transport Manager).
We are pleased to be doing our bit for the environment!
